Located in the heart of Lujiazui in Shanghai, Vanke Emerald Riverside’s building has been designed by César Pelli, who is praised as a ‘living architectural museum’. The prestigious design company LSDCASA was responsible for the interior design. The project has taken a significant share of the marketplace, reaching sales of one billion renminbi. This was unparalleled in the Chinese property market in September 2014. Its duplex penthouse, at 310 million renminbi, has broken the record of most expensive flat, originally set by Tomson Riviera.

The design in this 380-square-metre show-flat represents the multiple cultures inherent in China. The designers have deeply explored Chinese philosophy, especially the spiritual values and beliefs of the elite class. Focus has been placed on the contemporary living concept and aesthetic-form demand. The aim was to resonate with clients and touch their hearts, creating an exquisite visual impression and sense of space.
