The project is a sales office for a residential area. As inspiration, the design team took the oriental philosophy of ‘square sky and circular earth’. The circle represents the knowledge of Taoism and concerns change. The square is the ideal for personality cultivation of the Confucianists. The combination of circle and square together form the core spirit of traditional Chinese culture. The overall building is square to show the beauty of a square facing the sky, while the interior is designed in a circle to show the beauty and softness of a circle facing the earth. This both displays the relationship between square sky and circular earth and forms a perfect combination of hard and soft in the overall architectural space.
