The scheme of bathroom of this listed Georgian property was grounded in the classical, however the clients also requested an undercurrent of fun. The star of the show is the Alba Chiara marble. By day, it’s a functional bathroom with good lighting and clever storage, by night, a sanctuary – creating a softer, more romantically lit space to unwind in. The bathroom is part of the master suite and a connection with the bedroom was important. While the colour schemes are different, there is a common thread of classical styling. Views from each room were carefully considered and use of colours and materials balanced. Above the bath hangs a framed Pink Floyd artwork, an injection of the unexpected – adding colour and modernity to the room. The overall scheme reflects an elegant yet fun family home within a period property.
