London, United Kingdom
All project descriptions are provided by SBID Awards entrants.
Angel O’Donnell took on the enormous task of making 10,000 sq ft of communal breakout areas both functional and fabulous.
Knowing that these spaces would be used by thousands of residents in any given week, the studio decided to design a lot of the furniture themselves. That way, they could make regular trips to the manufacturers, test the comfort and durability of their designs, and closely monitor the quality of each piece – from conception to completion.
The lively aesthetic combines striking geometric patterns with splashes of emerald green, mustard yellow, amber, dove grey and powder blue to create a series of cheerful zoned areas for people to work, play and relax in. This look is peppered with recognisable design classics and a dazzling assortment of British artwork.
Wherever you look, there’s always something that will surprise and delight. This is communal living 2.0.
