Rebecca Robertson Interiors
53 West 53, Residence 65
New York, United States
All project descriptions are provided by SBID Awards entrants.
Encompassing the entire 65th floor at 53 West 53 – the striking condominium tower designed by Pritzker Prize-winning architect Jean Nouvel and located above the Museum of Modern Art in Manhattan – the 6,448 sq ft Rebecca Robertson-designed residence has been described fittingly as a one-of-a-kind piece of art.
Palatial in size and luxuriant in form with a gracious, open layout and stunning floor-to-ceiling windows that provide panoramic views of Central Park and the city skyline, Residence 65 was a rare canvas from which Robertson created a sophisticated and inviting space. Her approach included juxtaposing primitive and organic pieces and textures against sleek modern designs to make the home feel curated, not just decorated, and that its design has evolved over time.
