Hirsch Bedner Associates (HBA) was commissioned to design InterContinental Haikou Seaview which is the only hotel building in Haikou City with a strategic location facing the sea from the south, close to the yacht club and marina. The hotel's design is inspired by the local Nanyang expatriates and sailing culture. HBA introduces the "COMMUNE" catering concept for the restaurant of the InterContinental brand to create a dining space with the concept of "fusion, gathering, and market", taking guests on a food exploration journey from the seaside to the arcade of Haikou Old Town.
