NM Design, based in Auckland, New Zealand was commissioned to design a kitchen as part of a new build in a rural location in Central Otago. The client’s brief was to create a focal space for the open plan living areas, sit well with the views from the many windows and to create a kitchen to cope with large scale entertaining and also work well when there is only one or two people at the house. Nicola Manning, the principal designer, designed a kitchen with strong shapes and textures to complement the rural landscape.
