The exhibition ‘Placed in Care’ tells the story of over 150.000 Danish children placed outside their homes in orphanages, institutions, or foster-families over the past 150 years. Their stories are usually told by the official child-protection-system, but here they are in the children's own words. The exhibition has a section for adults/teens and a children’s-section. Both are highly engaging through interviews, films and historical objects telling authentic life-stories. The exhibition is designed as a series of strong immersive spaces with a beautiful color-scheme. Connecting past and present, the exhibition has been highly praised and drawn a lot of media attention.
