DesignSonntag Ltd was commissioned to design a hotel in Central Otago, that harmonises modern comfort with local heritage. Inspired by the region's natural beauty, the design features soaring ceilings and sturdy concrete pillars reminiscent of its majestic mountains. Warmth pervades with wooden flooring and reclaimed timber walls, softening rugged stone elements like traditional schist walls and a fireplace. Earthy tones in decor complement outdoor surroundings, while artwork with hanging bicycle wheels pays homage to local adventure. Gold mining artefacts at reception showcase Cromwell's history.The layout with sunken lounge and travel lounge offers functional spaces, that blend aesthetic harmony with practicality.
