Design Solutions was commissioned to transform a house into a versatile holiday home for a multi-generational family. The project aimed to blend traditional exterior architecture with a contemporary interior design, reflecting the diverse preferences of the family. Some members desired bold, graphic designs with splashes of color, while others preferred a calm Scandinavian aesthetic. To meet everyone's needs, the floor plan was rearranged for enhanced functionality and versatility, including practical additions like a new laundry room and side terraces for indoor-outdoor living. Materials like terracotta, local stone, wooden floors, and white beams were used to create a unified interior design. Terracotta bricks, reimagined indoors, added unique architectural details, while local stone and white beams provided continuity throughout the house. Bold accents and a base color of deep blue-grey balanced vibrant and calm elements. The family's extensive art collection was thoughtfully incorporated, making the house feel like a cohesive piece of art.
