Arcadia House

Visnick & Caulfield designed this lakeside residence for an active couple approaching retirement. The client sought to create a home that celebrated the environmentally protected nature surrounding them, where they could enjoy aging in place, while granting space for another generation to visit and entertain around lake life. Arcadia House’s U-shaped form embraces the lake front and envelops an interior court, protecting the residents’ privacy; stunning views of the lake are offered from every room. Nature is brought indoors through the extensive glass and is emphasised by the mixed material palette including reclaimed wood, granite, and earth-toned walls. The home’s incorporation of sustainable and accessible design elements ensures that Arcadia House will be the heart of the family for generations to come.
