Bad Mama Keelung
Keelung, Taiwan
All project descriptions are provided by SBID Awards entrants.
Adam Hunt Ideas and Gemma Lin designed & built Bad Mama Keelung by hand out of an old Fishing Boat in a 150 year old derelict building on a medieval lane inspired by history, where prostitutes used to brawl with gangsters off the Kànzǐdǐng Night Street Fish Markets behind a Temple to The Great Goddess Mazu – Patron Saint of Seafarers. The project was completely out of beach harvested recycled wood, driftwood and repurposed and found items around Keelung on the wild north coast of Taiwan. The interior design and furniture design evolved based upon whatever yield was harvested from the beach.
