Chapter House
London, United Kingdom
All project descriptions are provided by SBID Awards entrants.
Chapter House is a dramatic Victorian building in the heart of Covent Garden with Art Deco elements within the communal areas and apartments surrounded by secret gardens. BoxNine7 felt it was especially important to acknowledge the depth history, and the vibrant theatrical scenes the vibrant area has to offer.
With a sophisticated, golden, teal colour scheme, BoxNine7 added a large vintage floral print as a talking point in the open living space evoking a similar feel to an old-fashioned theatre poster. To make sure there was enough entertaining space, the designers designed a dining area with a bench chest, taking inspiration from the classic banquet seating, something you often see in restaurants nowadays. With the artwork and mirror hung on chains and textured fabric border attached to the lampshades, the design really added a creative flair to the apartment; just like Covent Garden itself.
