Extending over 20,000 sqm, the project includes the renovation of existing hotel buildings, the addition of a new guest room block and a state-of-the-art medical spa. The sensitivity and restraint of the intervention lies in reacting discreetly to the surrounding nature. One of the aims was to preserve the appearance of the classic old hotel and to reinforce it by visually reducing the volume of new additions and providing diversity in the architectural languages. The new guest room building is set back above the entrance and its volume is staggered in such a way that it is not completely visible.
The spa volume is covered with gardens. The timber cladding of the new elements plays a game of shadows and creates a material landscape embedded in the green gardens, marrying together the old hotel buildings in a synthesis of architectural language and simplicity in materials, without overwhelming the senses.
