Detail by Davinia Sutton, a boutique interior design practice based in Christchurch, New Zealand, was commissioned to design a large open plan kitchen for a family home located in a stunning rural setting outside of Christchurch.

The clients desired a large open kitchen with clear sight lines to the gardens and rural setting beyond. They desired a kitchen that would incorporate an aesthetic in keeping with the cues of their pavilion home the design of which was influenced by architect Sir Miles Warren.

The final result is a kitchen that is unified within the surrounding large modern pavilion space. It is an overall showpiece with eye catching detail and optimal functionality. The design is an elegant and tailored approach, respecting the details and playing on the architect’s cues to deliver a home that reflects the client’s contemporary rural lifestyle.
