Through a ‘culture+commerce’ design strategy and by taking cues from the cultural context of the ancient provincial capital of Xi’an, Gonverge Interior Design created a bookstore-themed commercial and cultural complex, which leads lifestyle aesthetic experiences with multiple business forms and has successfully attracted customers in spite of the remote site. Within the space nearly 40,000 square metres, the advantage of the original void area was retained, generating a strong experiential sense of space. Besides, the striking and pioneering artistic book walls, which are 18 metres high and 240 metres long in total, bring a brand-new image of urban commercial space to Xi’an and even China.
