MassMutual’s new activity-based workplace features human-centered design for nearly 1,000 associates that accommodates hybrid work, can adapt to the future, and responds to employees’ health and wellness needs. Elkus Manfredi started with the idea of making each employee successful — delivering a wide array of non-hierarchical workspaces to give employees the tools to do their best work. Community gathering areas act as magnetic hubs for each floor. An open staircase connects all floors and encourages staff to explore, increasing the chances of creative collisions. Work pods, organized organically in neighborhoods, advance the fluid sense of the space and workflow.
