The client was renovating an old beach house and wanted a kitchen reminiscent of a ‘Hampton Style’ which is light, bright and whitewashed with a sophisticated yet beachy vibe. The old kitchen was cramped, undesigned and lacked creativity and warmth. As the kitchen was very much a part of their main living area, German Kitchens wanted to create a kitchen that would act as both the cooking space and main place for entertaining. Being a beach house they frequent during the holidays and festive periods it was importance for the design to accommodate large groups, family and enable endless socialising. The idea was to design an island the length of the room and work this in with the dining table to create and continuous spring board that led the visitor outdoors onto the large deck with beach access.
