Postpartum Confinement

Postpartum confinement is the most critical period of postpartum recovery for Chinese mothers. Related research show that young mothers always been suffered from depression, monotony, physical trauma, and psychological discomfort. Therefore, the design team set the design theme of “Hours of Shutdown”. This project aims at bringing a happy and relaxed sense of vacation into the space and creating a leisure time in the postpartum confinement.

In order to ensure comfort, 70 rooms are in the 12,000 sqm building space. Also, half of the space consists of baby care centre, yoga, spa, golf, fitness, hairdressing, baking, photography, studios and boutique art shops. How to take care of the long “holiday time” is up to young mothers themselves.
