Private Residence & Clubhouse

The new 4,000 square-metre residence and clubhouse located outside Shanghai is a custom-designed home for a prominent Chinese fashion designer. After much success in his career, the client returns to his childhood hometown to build a family residence. The design captures the perfect balance between contemporary expressions and local cultural heritage, representing both his international lifestyle and family history. The client is both family- and business-focused and the house reflects this through use and style: a private family home and a place to entertain on a large scale. With various functions, room types and sizes, the challenge is to meet and meld all of the unique programmatic and service needs to coexist and harmonise functionally and aesthetically. The luxurious combination of bold accents, refined finishes and artisanal craftsmanship culminates in a sophisticated design, delivering a residence equally suited for grand entertaining and intimate family gatherings.
