Stay KooooK Bern

JOI-Design’s interiors for the very first Stay Kooook hotel were inspired by the brand’s motto, ‘Stay Kooook, Stay You’. Located in Bern, Switzerland, the property encourages personalised experiences through customisable spaces that make easy-going, young-at-heart travellers feel at home as they meet others from around the globe. The roof-top public areas were conceived to feel like a ‘backyard’ where neighbours socialise amongst quirky furnishings and vibrant foliage that inspire natural wellbeing and tranquillity. Playful design accents break down psychological barriers, while furniture configurations encourage people to exchange ideas, experiences, and meals. A shared kitchen with a communal table allows guests to cook together, share international cuisine and work collaboratively. An inset seating nook forms a cosy cocoon, while a swinging park bench offers light-hearted relaxation. Guests ‘shop’ from the public areas, borrowing healthy, oxygen-generating plants, colourful cushions, and clever accessories to stylise their private rooms according to their personal tastes.
