As a showroom for Steelcase office and furniture products in Washington DC, the WorkLife program comprises two essential types of customer spaces – the office and related workspaces showroom experience, and the supporting hospitality experience. BLDGS developed the organising principal of the project as a series of thresholds between these two types of program experiences, and between scales of spaces, materials, colour, and ambient sound.
