The 150 sq m footprint is a good mix between a retail merchant and boutique experience. The design theme is modern heritage: a modern, fresh interpretation of a traditional wine cellar, made appropriate in a commercial setting. A rammed earth rendered feature wall at the entrance reminds us of the soil on which the vines grow and speak to the locally sourced and supported product on display. Furthermore the material palette takes cues from the cellar with clay brick and timber. Sustainability and circular economy play important design roles. All the equipment has been up-cycled and carefully re-used to create different selling, display and story telling platforms for the product. Sustainable timber and eucalyptus is used to offer warmth and welcoming touch points in the space. Suspended ceilings offer intimacy, act as acoustic buffers and spatially demarcate the space.
