Intarya was commissioned to create a characterful, contemporary interior scheme for this duplex apartment. The interior has a subtle mid-century influence, where lighting, furniture and fabrics reveal a vintage aesthetic, resulting in a striking and glamorous interior.
Bespoke joinery can be found throughout, providing ample storage and display, as well as the concealment of television and AV equipment. High gloss lacquers, specialist gloss veneers, inlaid fabric panels and jewel-like ironmongery demonstrate quality of craftsmanship and added value to the property.
An array of sumptuous fabric walling contributes to the richness and diversity of the schemes. Soft wools were used alongside subtly metallic grass cloths and textured silks in striking teal and soft gold. A guest bedroom scheme was formed around a bespoke fabric used to wrap the wardrobe doors, transforming and giving visual interest to this practical storage. The two-tone blues of the fabric then informed the overall scheme.
The use of over-scaled, abstract artwork creates instant impact with many pieces commissioned as the key feature of the room. In the dining area, substantial brushstrokes across a vast canvas creates a bold, contemporary piece whilst the bubble graphic series in a guest bedroom determines the retro feel and sets the tone for the youthful, brave scheme.
